Tonight wraps up yet another incredible adventure on America’s Got Talent. It’s time to crown the champion of season 21 the first time in AGT history where a winner has emerged after two nights of live shows and voting across the country, with host Terry Crews set to announce the winner of the one-million-dollar prize. The results show airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, after the final Top 10 performances on Tuesday, as the final acts are put through their paces after auditions quarterfinals semifinals and the new Judges’ Callbacks.
With Simon Cowell still sidelined as he recovers from spinal surgery, fourth judges Howie Mandel, Mel B and Sofa Vergara have had a different feeling about the live shows with British YouTuber and Britain’s Got Talent judge KSI aboard. Across the final shows, the change has been a clear highlight, introducing authentic shock with KSI’s real reactions, combined with the online-based hyperbole that feels new to such a broad, long-established series. Twitter-baiting-wise, it looks like the audience will get the last laugh.
The 10 remaining acts span a wide variety of talent that have come to define what the modern AGT era is. There are two dog acts, the Acro Canine Crew and Olivia Befus, continuing the show’s long love affair with animals. Magicians Geno Ploeger and Hundred Fingers act out under a modern veneer of traditional stagecraft. Come Here and the Royal Lasers dance companies deliver dynamic visual spectacles. Veronika Goroshkova’s aerial act offers both strength and balance, while 14-year-old Noelle’s voice has brought judges to their feet and earned her plenty of enthusiasm from Mandel. Nene Royal, who at 16 is both a singer and guitarist, has been called the most exciting act of the season and for their part, judges Mandel and Simon Cowell declared that she should be the winner of the competition. And rounding out the competition is Unitree, a robot act that has radically redefined America’s Got Talent in 2026 and even inspired Mandel to quip that the series should be renamed as America’s Got Technology.
Four of the eight finalists made it through directly on live Golden Buzzersanother twist that keeps the judges one final step in the process even after the voting is left entirely to the viewing public. The remaining six made it through entirely on viewer votes, reaffirming that America still does hold the ultimate voting power. Tuesday night’s shows were the final opportunity for acts to impress in the last moments before voting closed; many performed their absolute careers best, offering a marriage of technical prowess and emotional storytelling that has long been the series’ mystical sauce.
Also expected to bring the house down during the results show are guest performers. This year, the likes of Linkin Park, Josh Groban, REI AMI, Chloe Flower, Steve Aoki, Jessica Sanchez and magician Mat Franco will perform. Having star turns on the finale has become a part of the routine, and adds more of a celebratory atmosphere to the end of the series, rather than that of a competition. The Pasadena Civic Auditorium, home to the series live shows for the last number of years, will once again be thick with sighs, tears and nervous anticipation as Terry Crews opens the envelopes.
